Bible Reflections for Healthy Living May 2025

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

God’s plans for us are not random or uncertain - they are full of purpose, hope, and goodness.

He desires not only to give us a future, but to shape us into vessels ready and available for that future.

When we care for our body, spirit, and soul, we aren’t striving for perfection - we are making room for His plans to work in and through us.

Our bodies are not obstacles or afterthoughts. They are temples of the Holy Spirit - created to carry out Kingdom work, reflect His love, and serve His people.

When we nourish them, rest them, and move them well, we honour the God who made them.

By tending to our inner and outer well-being, we are placing ourselves in alignment with God’s intentions, showing Him we are ready and willing to walk into the hope-filled future He’s prepared.

We’re not trying to “earn” God’s plan. We’re simply making space in our lives - physically, mentally, and spiritually - for Him to work fully and freely.

  • What kind of plans might God be inviting you into right now?

  • Are there habits or thoughts that hold you back from embracing His plans?

  • What changes could create more space for God’s movement in your life?

  • What does it look like for you to live like someone with a God-given future?

Take a moment to ask God to help you care for yourself in a way that welcomes His plans more fully.
