Savoury Seed Crackers

These crackers are so easy to make and great as a snack with or without a dip!


Prep: 5 minutes (+ 15–20 min resting)

Cook: 35–40 minutes

Serves: approx 15-20 crackers

Ingredients

  • 150g mixed seeds, incorporating at least 35g flaxseed or chia

  • 120ml (=120g) water

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ¼ tsp ground ginger

  • ¼ tsp ground cumin

  • Pinch of cinnamon

  • Pinch of cayenne or chilli flakes

Method

  • Mix seeds, water and spices in a bowl.

  • Let sit for 15–20 minutes so the flax/chia can gel.

  • Preheat oven to 160°C fan / 180°C / Gas Mark 4.

  • Spread the mixture thinly and evenly on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, checking after 25 mins.

    If the edges are crisp first, break them off and return the rest to the oven.

  • Cool fully, then break into crackers.

    Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

    To re-crisp, pop them in a warm oven at 180°C for 5–8 minutes.
