Bringing Our Questions to God

At our recent Fitfish retreat in Devon, one of the Fitfish Ministry leaders, Pete, led us in spending time reflecting on questions.

Because life is full of them, isn’t it?

Some are small…

“What shall I eat today?”

“What should I wear?”

And some feel much bigger…

“What direction should I take?”

“Why is this happening?”

And then there are the questions we don’t yet have answers to.

The ones we have to gently place into God’s hands and trust Him with.

In Mark 10, we see several people asking Jesus questions.

One man asked what he needed to do to inherit eternal life…

But walked away sad.

Others asked for status and recognition…

And ended up disappointed.

But then there was Bartimaeus.

A blind man, sitting at the roadside.

When Jesus asked him:

“What do you want me to do for you?”

He didn’t hesitate.

“Rabbi, I want to see.”

Such a simple, honest, faith-filled answer.

And it brought hope.

So, today:

What do you want Jesus to do for you?

Not what you think you should say.

Not what others expect.

But honestly…

What do you need?

It might feel big.

It might feel small.

But He is listening.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously…” (James 1:5)

Take a moment today to pause…

And bring your need to Him.
