As we brace ourselves to step into December, maybe you’re starting to feel that familiar end-of-year swirl…
🌀 The pace picking up
🌀 To-do lists multiplying
🌀 Emotions running high - even if you’re not quite sure why
Whether it’s the build-up to Christmas, a work deadline, family pressures, or just the sense that time is slipping away, overwhelm can sneak in quietly - and then suddenly feel huge.
If that’s you, I want to gently remind you:
Overwhelm isn’t a sign of failure.
It’s a signal.
A nudge that something needs to shift.
That you weren’t meant to carry it all.
You can stop and breathe.
You can bring it to God.
You can let go of what’s not yours to hold.
What if, instead of pushing through December in survival mode, you paused - even for five minutes - to ask:
🕊️ What is truly important right now?
🕊️ What do I need to release?
🕊️ What is God calling me to actually carry in this season?
It might help to jot things down, pray through your roles and responsibilities, or try a simple prioritising tool to sort the urgent from the important.
And then - take a deep breath.
Picture that place where you feel most calm - by a river, on a mountain, wrapped in a blanket with a cuppa - and remind yourself:
You’re not alone in this.
God never asks you to carry more than His grace will allow.
Let Him in.
Let something go.
And let December be gentler this year.
