Is it allowed?

In the last two blogs we explored what you really want, and what might be stopping you.

In this blog, I want to talk about the shift that brings it all together.

The difference between external rules and internal wisdom.

External rules sound like this:

“I should be doing better.”

“I must stick to this.”

“I’ve failed again.”

“I’ll start properly next week.”

Rules feel clear.

They promise certainty.

They remove decision-making.

But they don’t build maturity.

They create a cycle of:

Pride when you stick to them.

Shame when you don’t.

And when the rule breaks, everything feels like it collapses.

Internal wisdom sounds different.

It pauses.

It reflects.

It asks questions.

It sounds like:

“What do I need right now?”

“Is this building the life I want?”

“Will this help me feel strong tomorrow?”

“Is this restoring me or draining me?”

This is deeply biblical.

Paul writes:

“‘I have the right to do anything,’ you say - but not everything is beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’ - but not everything is constructive.”

(1 Corinthians 10:23)

We have freedom.

But freedom guided by wisdom leads to peace.

The question shifts from:

“Is this allowed?”

To:

“Is this beneficial?”

“Is this constructive?”

“Is this shaping the person I want to become?”

Rules say:

“Just tell me what to do.”

Wisdom says:

“Lord, teach me how to think.”

This week, notice where you’re still relying on rules to feel safe.

And instead of asking, “Is this allowed?” try asking:

“Is this beneficial?”

Then bring that question to God.

Commit your way to Him.

And trust Him to establish what truly matters.

That question is really life-changing!

What do you think?

All of this is possible because of Jesus. Thank God for Jesus!!!
